Michael J. McDonald is the firm’s principal. Since his call to the BC bar in1990, Michael McDonald has acquired a national reputation for his ability to negotiate and structure significant commercial, lands and resources based arrangements that protect and promote the economic, social and environmental interests for First Nation clients. These include Accommodation, Participation, and Impact and Benefit Agreements, Joint Ventures, Limited Partnerships, and many other commercial arrangements. He has worked extensively in the forestry, mining, construction, oil and gas, tourism and energy sectors throughout Canada, including some of the most significant impact benefit agreement in Canada. Michael is also a member of the Law Society of the NWT. He has written and lectured extensively in his area of focus and is a former board member of World Vision, Canada’s largest privately funded humanitarian aid and development agency. Michael is Cree and a member of the Peguis First Nation in Manitoba.

Jennifer A. Duncan joined McDonald and Company in October 2008. Jennifer has extensive experience working with First Nation governments and organizations including her own First Nation and the Dene Nation in the Northwest Territories.  She graduated from UBC Law in 2004 and practiced law in the Northwest Territories where she appeared as counsel on criminal, family and civil litigation matters.  Jennifer then worked at the UBC Faculty of Law as the Associate Director for the First Nations Legal Studies Program. She is currently a director for the Scow Institute and a member of the Indigenous Bar Association. In addition to her membership in the Law Society of British Columbia, she is also a member of the Law Society of Alberta, and the Law Society of the Northwest Territories. Jennifer is Dene from the Behdzi Ahda First Nation in the Northwest Territories.

Rosalind M. Campbell joined the firm in 2011. She was previously a summer articled student for McDonald & Company in 2008, graduated from UBC in 2009, and after articling in a Vancouver law firm was called to the Bar (Law Society of B.C.) in 2010. Her experience prior to law practice includes many years as a legal assistant and administering the Property Taxation Department for the Musqueam First Nation. Her experience with First Nations includes governance, economic development and property taxation. Rosalind is currently an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association's Aboriginal Lawyer's Forum. She is Coast Salish and an active member of the Musqueam First Nation.
